Falsetto

DEFINITION

A technique in which a mature male voice can reach notes of the soprano or alto range. This is not the same thing as a pure countertenor voice. In Falsetto, only the edges of the vocal cords vibrate as opposed to the whole length, and it is used by male voices to reach notes outside of their usual range.a high, light, artificial voice used to sing notes that are above the normal registera singing voice that is in a "false"-higher than normal-register, such as the countertenor
