Non-western sounds

Those sounds or forms of music alien to the Western tradition of music. These include music and instruments of Asia, the Middle East, Africa, the Pacific Islands, the Native Americans, etc. Also, those elements of Western music that are not native to it, but borrowed from other peoples or traditions.
