A term referring to the first ending of a repeated section. See also clos.The first section in the Estampie form.("open") Designates a cadence (a closing gesture and a concluding note) in which the last note sounds inconclusive and is on a pitch which is one step above the final; applied to troubadour and trouvere repertory and some instrumental dances.
