Panpipes

An instrument consisting of a set of small pipes bound together typically in a row (or rows), arranged from smallest to largest, which can be stopped at the bottom. The pipes can also be arranged in a bundle with the largest pipe in the center. This instrument is played by blowing across the top of the pipes, to produce a pitch. References to panpipes are to be found as early as the 6th century B.C.
